David:
Thank you for responding last month about the questions I submitted to you on the Bonner line.
I came across a proof that you might be interested in, so thought I'd send it. It refers to Elizabeth Evans #7623's and Ailcy Evans #13579 parents.
It proves that Abraham Evans, Jr. married a McKaig, daughter of John McKaig, Sr. It is found in Warren Co, TN Will Book 1, page 76-77 dated Nov 1833. This Abraham Evans' oldest daughter, Ann Evans apparently was not married in 1833 and was young enough to need a guardian (Will Book 3, p 227) and was willed a slave girl named Mary by her grandfather, John McKaig. There is no mention of Abraham Evans' wife, so she may have been dead.
This HAS to be Abraham, Jr. because Abraham Sr. (b1765) apparently did not have young children in 1833. He died in 1848.
I know it does not prove that Abraham Sr. did NOT marry Elizabeth McKaig.
Do you have proof of that marriage? As I said in my earlier message, Evans family tradition states he married Catharine Elizabeth "Betsey"
Ensminger. (She was not his first wife however) Am very interested in this because these people are in my direct line of Bonners.
Thank you!
