- Funeral service for Charles "Chuck" Edward Hennessee, 68, of Elgin, will be at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, October 27, 2007 at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Delbert Hughes of Lighthouse Church of God, officiating. Mr. Hennessee died on Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at his home. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.
Chuck was born on December 13, 1938 in Lawton, Oklahoma to John W. and Ruth (Harrison) Hennessee. He grew up in Lawton and attended Lincoln Elementary School, Central Junior High School and graduated from Lawton High School. He moved to California and worked in the shipyards as a welder. He returned to Lawton and worked as a driver at 7-Up bottling Company for 10 years. He also worked at Borden Milk Company as a driver. He moved to Dallas, Texas and worked at LTV Inc. on the assembly line that manufactured airplane parts. He worked as a carpet installer working with his brothers, son and nephews in the family business. He was a member of the Church of God. He enjoyed fishing, growing plants, raising and showing pigeons, and horseback riding.
Survivors include his mother, Ruth Hennessee, of Lawton; his son, Charles “Chuck” Edward Hennessee, Jr., of Lawton, Oklahoma; his daughter and son-in-law, Tracy and Jared Moore, of Marlow, Oklahoma; two brothers and sisters-in-law, John Paul and Jeanie Hennessee, of Elgin, Oklahoma and Billy and Sheri Hennessee, of Lawton, Oklahoma; two sisters, Pamela Hennessee and her husband, James Ritter, of Elgin, Oklahoma and Dana Bagley and her husband, Ernie, of Snyder, Oklahoma; 12 grandchildren, Tiffany Harris and her husband, Seth, Jeremy Anderson, Courtney Smith, Charles Edward Hennessee III, Heather Mae Hennessee, Matthew Hennessee, Brandon Hennessee, Anthony Grant, Tabitha Hankins, Aimee Jones, Emilee Jones, and Kendal Hillis; and 8 great grandchildren, Kyle, Kohl, Destini, Romeo, Adriana, Dylan, Cheyanne, and Alexandria.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Hennessee; his daughter, Charlene Hennessee-Smith; and his brother, Nolan Dale Hennessee.
