James Wasson b. abt 1800, Tn. married Rebecca Williams b. 1811 NC. Moved to Sharp Co around 1845 according to census records. Before that lived somewhere in Tn. as some of their children are listed as being born there.

Their children are oldest to youngest,

James 1828, Tn.,
John Matthew 1835, Tn.,
Susan Ann 1837, Tn.,
Whit G. 1840, Tn.,
John B. 1844, Ar.,
Zackeriah 1849, Ar.,
Nancy J. 1850 Ar.,
Joel 1851, Ar.,
Sarah E. 1853, Ar.,
Martha 1854, Ar.

If someone thinks they know these people let me know. Sharp, Lawrence, Independence Co.s in Arkansas are my home turf since 1840-50's.

Related names are Baker, Cathey, Saville, Hennessee, Williams, West and Dunehew. Most came from Tennessee. The Saville's and Cathey's came down from Missouri and Indiana. If you are related to someone in the counties mentioned I am possibly related to you. Thanks for any and all help.

41879 We do not know who Mary Cave's father was but we presume he was one of a few men named Cave in early Virginia. The most likely candidate is John Cave [1678] who twice applied for a land patent with John Echols. Mary was said to be born about 1650 and died after 1712 Cave, Mary (I20052)

41880 We have no proof that William Abraham McMinn and his wife are buried in the Anthony Family Cemetery as there are no markers for them. Rollin Gold

5 Aug 2012

I sent Rollin a slate of William's antecedents that I found on the web. Here is his reply and an opinion with which I totally agree;

"As far as William Hansard's ancestors....I only feel comfortable going back to his grandparents, Richard Hansard and Bathsheba Archer. There is just so much "junk" on the web to confuse and mislead a person, it isn't even funny.
I am trying to track down the source of a birthday for Martha Christian. When I contact a person who has it in their records, I get the same response....."I'm not sure where it came from."
That's part of my problem with the WWW, everybody thinks they are a genealogist...but they don't do any research."

Hansard, William (I32758)

41883 We know Raleigh and Lazarus are still in the Virginia/NC area in May of 1777 when they signed the following oath of Allegiance in Pittsylvania County, which borders Halifax Co., Va. and Caswell Co., NC:

"I do swear or affirm that I renounce and refuse all allegiance to George the Third, King of Great Britain, his heirs and successors and that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to the commonwealth of Virginia as a free and independent state and that I will not at any time do or cause to be done any matter or thing that will be prejudicial or injurious to the freedom and independence thereof as declared by congress and also that I will discover and make known to some one justice of the peace for the said state all treasons or traitorous conspiracies which I now or hereafter shall know to be formed against this or any of the United States of America."

After Raleigh had left Caswell County, NC, the name of Rawley Dodson shows up there once again in the records in matters pertaining to the estate of John Moore, Jr (1786-1791).

A list of accounts included the name of Rawley Dodson in Caswell Co., Will Book C in June court 1792.

The marriage records of both Halifax County, Virginia and Caswell County, North Carolina, respectively, are intact and neither holds a record for Lazarus Dodsonís marriage to Jane whose surname is unknown. Lazarus likely married her after his move to the frontier of then North Carolina, now Tennessee.

41885 We may not know where Nicholas was born, or when, but we know when and where he died, because his will called for him to be buried in the churchyard of "Saynt Leonard in the parisshe of Deale." Estes, Nicholas (I37309)

41886 We now have a change of surname because their son, George, 5th Duke of Marlborough, took the additional name of Churchill by royal license in 1817. The Churchill surname is interesting in its origin and could perhaps be the subject of another article. Burkeís Peerage gives the family origin as coming from Gitto de Leon whose son was Wandril de Leon, Lord of Courcil. The name then changed from "de Courcil" to "de Chirchil" and ultimately "Churchill". But I digress.

Spencer-Churchill, Sir George 5th Duke of Marlborough (I37028)

41889 We, Terry DeBencik and Laurie Hensley, began our successful collaboration in 1984, providing association management for the Old Sacramento Historic District.

In that role, DeBencik & Hensley produced literally hundreds of events, including the annual 3rd of July Fireworks and parade, the Collectors' Fairs, Jazz in the Park concerts, Mardi Gras, the Waterfront Art Fest, and the Tomato Festival. Soon we added events for other organizations, including the Pacific Rim Street Fest and the Festival de la Familia.

Moving beyond the streets of Old Sacramento, we added such events as the California International Marathon, the Santa Parade, the Sacramento Zoo Zoom, the Garlic Gala, and Sacramento Reads.

41891 WEBB, DYER
I am looking for information on a William DYER who was married to Margaret ROBB WEBB, a widow from SC. I believe William DYER was a widower but do not know that wife's name. William and Margaret married between 1813 and 1830. William was born in Lincoln Co. NC and moved to White Co. TN <1813>.William's father's name was Samuel and two of his brothers were John and Samuel. I believe William was deceased by 1830. Of course he could have moved I guess but his brothers John and Samuel were still in White Co. TN after 1830. Their history together shows that they had always lived in close proximity to each other. Margaret WEBB DYER had 4 or 5 children from her first marriage to James WEBB in York Co. SC. The children's names were Sarah, James, Joseph, Theodorick and possibly one named Mary. Unknown whether or not William and Margaret had any children together.
If anyone has any information at all about these people I would appreciate very much hearing from you.
