1. John Thaxton, Sr. was born in ~ 1760 in Commonwealth of Virginia; died on 13 Feb 1835 in Thaxton, Warren County, Tennessee; was buried in Old Cope Cemetery, Warren County, Tennessee.

Your question seemed to speak of John Thaxton (father, b.1730) and John Thaxton (son, 1760-1835) as a single person. John Allison, b. 1760, was referred to as "Sr." because he also had a son named John born in 1805. John Thaxton, Sr. was my 4GGrandfather. Abel Thaxton, b. ABT. 1710, Goochland County, VA. He married Lucy Davis, b. ABT. 1712, d. ABT. 1781. Abel died ABT. May 1767, Prince Edward County, VA.
I. John Thaxton, b. 1730, Virginia.
A. John Thaxton, Sr., b. BEF. 1760, Virginia. He married (1) ? Johnson, ABT. 1787, b. ABT. 1770, d. AFT. 21 Apr1796, Wilkes County, N. Carolina. He married (2) Unknown Brooks?, ABT. 1801, b. ABT. 1780, buried: Abt 9mi out from McMinnville (see John). John died 3 Feb 1835, Warren County, Tennessee, buried: Abt 9 m. from McMinnville, TN - Cope Cemetery per Wanda Gant.

1. Rachael Thaxton, b. 15 Feb 1789. She married Alexander Johnston, Jr, 26 Dec 1811, b. Warren County, Tennessee. Rachael died 30 Aug 1812, Warren Co. Tennessee.
2. Thomas Jefferson Thaxton, b. 21 Apr 1796, Ky. or N.C. He married Sarah Boyd Barnett, 10 May 1814, in Warren Co. Tennessee, b. 14 Mar 1796, Green Co. Tennessee, d. 24 Aug 1877, Bur Old Round Rock cem, Williamson Texas. Thomas died 7 Aug 1869, Buried at Round Rock, Williamson, Texas.
3. Hiley Thaxton, b. 3 Jun 1803, Kentucky. She married (1) John Morrow. She married (2) Elisha Reynolds. Hiley died 16 Nov 1882, Warren Co, TN.
4. John Thomas Thaxton, Jr, b. 26 Apr 1805, KY. He married Frances Hammonds, 9 Nov 1824, in McMinnville, Warren Co, TN, b. 9 Feb 1808, KY, d. 18 Jan 1887, Grundy CO, TN. John died 28 Apr 1890, Dunlap, Sequatchie Cty, TN.
5. Nancy Jane Thaxton, b. 5 Jun 1807. She married Robert Asbury Allison, 6 Oct 1825, in around Mcminnville, TN, b. 11 May 1799, Guilford CO., N. Carolina, (son of John Allison and Mary Shaw) d. 4 Dec 1857, Mt. Zion Church yard near Gibson, Tenn. Nancy died 25 Mar 1858, Mt. Zion Church yard near Gibson, Tenn.
6. Mary Thaxton, b. Abt 1810, Warren Co, TN. She married John Washington Allison, 9 Oct 1828, in Warren Co, TN, b. 20 Mar 1803, Guilford, NC, (son of John Allison and Mary Shaw) buried: Mt Zion Cem., near McMinnvile TN.
7. Wilburn Thaxton, b. 21 Jan 1811.
8. Lucinda Thaxton, b. 1817. She married Wilburn Blanks, 1836. Lucinda died 1888.
9. Martin Thaxton, b. 1818, Warren Co, TN.
10. Cynthia Caroline Thaxton, b. 18 Sep 1819. She married James Finis Allison, 7 July 1834, in Warren CO., TN, b. 13 Feb 1810, Guilford Co, NC, (son of John Allison and Mary Shaw) d. 21 Apr 1887, Warren Co, TN, buried: Mt. Zion Cem near McMinnville, TN. Cynthia died 4 Mar 1858, Warren CO., TN.
