    Greetings,

Wanda Gant, one of my Warren Co and WCGA friends ask me to post this. It is about the Thaxton surname.

Wanda wrote: "POST THIS AS BIGGEST CLUE ON JOHN THAXTON LINEAGE IN YEARS!"

As all our TNWARREN-L e-mails are archived at Rootsweb, this will be there if someone looks for the name, 50 years from now.

If you have anything on the Thaxton name, please give Wanda a hollar.

Your question seemed to speak of John Thaxton (father, b.1730) and John Thaxton (son, 1760-1835) as a single person. John Allison, b. 1760, was referred to as "Sr." because he also had a son named John born in 1805. John Thaxton, Sr. was my 4GGrandfather. Following is a brief report on the first couple of generations I have for this line. You mentioned a couple of points that I was not aware of, so I would love to share more information.
