I am descended from Peter Wallace Sr. He was born in Scotland ca. 1690, married Elizabeth Woods ca. 1704 and died in Ire. before 1724. His father was a Sir William Wallace and his mother, Elizabeth Bruce. The parents of Eliz. Woods were John Woods and Elizabeth Woods not Worsop, according to records in Co. Meath Ireland. Eliz. Woods was probably a cousin of John as her father was Thomas Woods and her mother was Elizabeth Parsons. Eliz. Worsop did not have children with John Woods per Irish records. Their daughter Margaret who married her cousin Andew Wallace did not have a daughter named Jennet, They are my ancestors as well. Eliz. Parsons father was Richard Parsons, the son of Sir William Parsons of Birr Castle. Her mother was Letitia Loftus, a desc. of Archbishop Adam Loftus of Dublin. As of yet I do not know the lineage any further on the Wallaces, but hope to in the future through researchers in Ireland. Good luck! Stephanie

Dear Cynthia and other Cochran cousins,

I know that my COCHRAN ancestors can be traced back to Pailsey, Scotland. I am interested in learning about the Wallace connection to my Cochran line, since my ancestor Peter Cochran b. 1626 Londonderry, Ireland married Christian Wallace. Peter's line goes back to the 1400's in Paisley, Scotland. You might be interested in adding this information to your Clan Cochran newsletter. It's a message I posted to another group. I am looking for information on Christian WALLACE b. c1640 who married Peter COCHRAN b. 1626 Londonderry, Ireland, died 25 Dec 1722 Londonderry, NH. Here is an interesting item:
Many of the Wallace clan married into the Cochran and Clark families.
Interesting reading about the Scotish Wallace's, from whom William

Wallace (Mel Gibson's Braveheart ) was descended, is "Wallaces of Elderslie Reprinted from the Transactions of the Archaeological Society of Glasgow 1884", written by John Oswald Mitchell (1826-1904), found in the Dallas Public Library.
Richard Wallace b. c1130 in his father's house of Elderslie close by Paisley, Scotland (where my first known Cochrans lived), was the gggrand father of Sir William Wallace. Richard Wallace had two sons - Richard II who had no issue, and Henry who had Adam Wallace, who had Adam II and
Malcolm who m. Margaret Crawford, dau. of Sir Reginald Crawford of London. They were the parents of Sir William Wallace who had no male heir. His wife was murdered. She was heiress of Bradfute of Lamington and had a daughter who married Sir William Baillie of Hoprigin East Lothian - both Lamington and Hoprig are in possession now by unbroken inheritance of the reputed representative of this marriage - Lord Leminton, better known as Baillie COCHRANE. Sir William Wallace's brother John carried on the line.
This book has much family history and probably can be checked out through inter-library loan at your local library."

In my search on the Wallace family, I found this bit of info. on Adam Wallace, son of Peter Wallace Sr. This source is from"History of Woodford County Kentucky by W.B. Railey. born 1852 " Adam stayed in Penn.when the rest of his family migrated to Va. Unknown who he married. He had at least one son Benjamin Wallace, won honors as a Capt. in the Rev. War. Benjamin's son, Dr. John CULBERTSON Wallace (this may a clue to Adams wife) (CULBERTSON) of Erie Pa. who had a daughter, Jane Foster Wallace, who married Cpt. Otis Wheeler, and they had dau. Clara Wheeler, who married Archibald McKee Jr. Their dau. Lillie McKee married Ed E. King, and they were parents of Dougles Wheeler King, of San Antonio Tx. who as aforesaid, married Jennie Farris Railey" (seems W.B. descends from Adam Wallace) Hope this helps or at least other avenues to persue. I would look into the Culbertson clue. Please keep me informed. Mary

I have written you privately but also wish to post here in the event somebody can add to my sketchy information. I am descended from granddaughter Lucinda Wallace (daughter of Peter Sr.'s son, Adam Wallace, b. 1713, and an unknown spouse) who married Isaac Hill, Sr. in 1772 in Martin Co, NC. Lucinda was born 1746 in St. Mary's Co., MD. She and Isaac had 14 children together in Edgecomb Co., NC, and later settled in GA. Many of their children/grandchildren were prominent in GA and TN history, including Sen. Benjamin Harvey Hill (grandson) of Georgia who was a popular senator before, during and after the Civil War. (There is a 50' statue of him in the Georgia State Capitol Bldg in Atlanta). Lucinda died a year after the birth of her last child, Sept. 23, 1798, in Tarborough Town, Edgecomb Co., NC. I am particularly seeking any more information on Adam Wallace and the unknown wife.

Jackie, just cecked the D.A.R. for a Benjamin Wallace, with Wheeler, and Culbertson names. This Benjamin was b. 1827, in Ireland. So, I think, W.B. Railey was off his mark. Sorry to have miss informed you, should have chesked first, but the info may help someone. Seeking information on Adam WALLACE, b. 1713, son of Peter WALLACE, SR. and Elizabeth WOODS. Does anyone know the name of Adam's wife? His precise birthdate and place of birth? Information on his five other siblings? Did he and his unknown spouse have more children than the one daughter, Lucinda? I am descended from Adam's daughter, Lucinda WALLACE, b. 1746 in St. Mary's Co., MD, who married Isaac HILL, SR. in 1798 in Edgecombe Co., NC. I have much information on their children I will be happy to share. Thanks for the info, but is this the same Adam WALLACE? Mine was born in 1713. Yours served in the military in the 1770's which would make him in his sixties if they are the same man. Also, the children you listed...I need clarification please. Are they Adam's siblings? Or are they Adam's children? I have Adam's siblings listed as William, Susannah, Peter, Andrew and Samuel. The one child I know was Adam's, was a daughter, Lucinda. I don't know his spouse's name or if there were other children.
